The lotus is a beautiful flower. It is an important symbol in cultures and religions around the world. From the muck in which it is born, the lotus rises up, sheds the grime and spreads its petals - perfect in all its imperfections. Standing true to itself, the lotus may calm and share the heart and soul of the world. I look upon the lotus and find a moment of peace within myself.
In the moment, doubt, negativity, guilt, shame, lethargy, and defeat are shed into the muck beneath me. I yearn to be my best self - free from judgement, fear, and blame. I am inspired to stop resisting, to strive and overcome the hurtles of social expectations, to be perfect in all of my imperfections. The world smacks me on the bum and the moment passes. My back-pack of burden weighs on my shoulders once again.
Can we find lasting peace and share our spirit with the world?
We can shed the muck and grime that accumulate within us. We can unfold our brilliant petals. We can travel our own path to spread love, joy, and understanding around us - and to discover peace and understanding within.
It takes time, and it takes work. The lotus does not bloom in a single moment. We must maintain our patience and cultivate our motivation. We can foster a curious open mind and continue to learn. During my journey I find the moment more and more, and I am here to share my journey with you.
